Bonaire Visitor Antigen Tests Available Upon Arrival

by | May 31, 2021 | Air Travel, COVID, Government, Local News

Antigen testing available at Bonaire's airport.

Bonaire visitor antigen tests are now available starting June 1, 2021, for those arriving at the airport.

This is beneficial for passengers from international destinations. For example, it was difficult for travelers from the USA to take the antigen test within the mandatory time prior to departure. The antigen test at the airport is conducted by Hestia in collaboration with BonLab in a new test line at the airport. It is expected that 200 passengers can be tested in 30 minutes.

Procedure for Bonaire visitor antigen tests.

On arrival, the passengers are met by employees of the Public Health Department. They will check the passenger’s health certificate, the results of the PCR test, and see if a passenger is required to take an antigen test. If yes, the passenger will be instructed to proceed to the test lane. The test is taken in specially-equipped containers next to immigration at the airport.

After the test, the passengers go to a waiting area. Any passenger who tests positive must be in isolation at the vacation accommodations. The Public Health Department will determine how long the isolation will last based on the passenger’s complaints.

How to book your antigen test for your upcoming arrival on Bonaire.

Starting June 1, 2021, Bonaire visitors who require an antigen test may book a test prior to departure by downloading and using the Bonaire Safety Travel App, which can be downloaded from the government’s official crisis website at www.bonairecrisis.com starting June 1st.
