It’s time for a Landsailing Adventure!
Landsailing is a must-do activity when visiting Bonaire. However, sometimes hurricanes further north steal our excellent trade winds. Now that the hurricane season is officially over, our wind seems to have returned. Now is the perfect time for landsailing!
Bonaire Landsailing Adventures offers unique, safe, adrenaline-filled, and eco-friendly fun for the whole family. Is it your first time landsailing? No problem! You will be trained on what to do before stepping onto the track.
Landsailing is perfect to experience by yourself or with larger groups, such as family reunions, birthday parties, corporate team building, a group of friends, dive groups during a surface interval or dry day, clubs, and school groups. You can even rent a double blokart cart for you and your child (over three years of age). The possibilities are endless! The track can even be rented out privately.
Is landsailing challenging?
Landsailing is easy! If I can do it, anyone can! There’s one rule to remember, “let go of the rope!” That’s how you slow down. Bonaire Landsailing Adventures reminds you to let go of the rope a lot during their safety briefing. It is rule number 1, 2 and 3. You are good to go as long as you remember to let go of the rope. Also, keep your limbs in the cart at all times. You will be given the rules and safety briefing before you get in the blokart carts. After a few laps, you will get the hang of it and fly with the wind. Holding the rope allows you to be in control so you can safely slow down or speed up as you go.
How fast can I go?
Well, the current blokart speed on record is 125km/h on a dry lake in Nevada, but on Bonaire, the average speed is 30-40km/h. Of course, you will be notified if the wind is too low or too strong for landsailing, as safety is a priority. Sometimes Mother nature has a mind of her own and we just have to roll with it.
Can I bring a camera?
Since you need to control the blokart cart at all times, you will not be able to bring a camera with you on the track. But not to worry, the Bonaire Landsailing Adventures team takes photos of everyone in action and group photos as well. You will even get a link to your photos!
