Travel to Bonaire is about to get a lot easier!
In the last few weeks, Bonaire’s COVID-19 cases have been increasing. However, hospital cases are still low. Due to the steady number of low hospitalizations, the travel requirements can be further relaxed. Since the pandemic started, this is the first time that everyone can reach the island easily by only completing a health declaration.
Below is a transcript of the latest press release.
From Wednesday, April 20, 2022, vaccinated and unvaccinated travelers only need to complete a health declaration for their trip to Bonaire. From that date, travelers no longer have to test, submit a recovery certificate, or provide a vaccination certificate before their trip. This applies to travelers from all countries. Travelers are expected to fill in the health declaration truthfully.
On Bonaire, the number of hospital admissions has been stable for a long time. That is why it is now possible to let go of the travel conditions that applied to the island. If a new variant of COVID-19 appears in the future that causes serious complaints, the travel conditions will be reassessed. It is possible that the travel conditions will then be adjusted in the future.
