Tanya Deen joins The Bonaire Insider as Editor in Chief
Please welcome Ms. Tanya Deen as The Bonaire Insider’s new Editor in Chief! Tanya is excited to join the InfoBonaire/Bonaire Insider family as the new owner and operator of the web platforms.
Back in December 2016, Tanya visited Bonaire as a diver just like so many others. She immediately sensed that “special something” that catches the majority of visitors to Bonaire, and she knew just as immediately that Bonaire would be her new home.
After her short, one week in Bonaire, Tanya returned to the United States, knowing she had some immediate life changes to make. Just four little months later, Tanya had resigned from her job at the Pentagon, sold her house, and relocated to Bonaire to begin living the dream. And she never looked back, not even once.
As she investigated housing on Bonaire, Tanya was selected to be one of several home buyers featured on the HGTV Caribbean Life ‘No Regrets on Bonaire’, Season 9 Episode 8. What so many people only dream about soon became her reality as she purchased her first home on Bonaire.
I had the pleasure of meeting Tanya at that time, five years ago. Since then, she has continued to live her dream, becoming a PADI dive instructor, and working within the island’s dive industry.
With the COVID-19 pandemic and fewer visitors arriving to dive, Tanya explored options to expand her horizons here on Bonaire; she never once contemplated leaving the island, as, after all, Bonaire is now her home.
Instead, it is with great pleasure that I inform our readers that Tanya will be the new owner/operator of InfoBonaire and The Bonaire Insider. I hope that all readers will join me in welcoming her to the team!
So, to sum it up in Papiamentu, Bonaire’s local language, a big Bon Bini (welcome) to Tanya Deen!

Tanya Deen, originally from Louisiana in the USA, has been living on Bonaire since December 2016. She is a PADI Master Scuba Diver Instructor and enjoys underwater and bird photography.
Tanya was featured in DIVE Magazine’s Winter 2019 edition for changing her life by overcoming a brain tumor and chasing her dream of becoming a dive instructor.
