Bonaire’s New Visitor Tax begins July 1, 2022

by | Jun 30, 2022 | Air Travel, Tourism Announcements

Are you traveling to Bonaire soon? The New Visitor Tax begins tomorrow!

As of July 1, 2022, a tourist tax of $75 per visit to Bonaire applies to all non-residents aged 13 and older. The tourist tax can be paid online in advance or upon arrival.

How to pay the New Visitor’s Tax.

Visitors to Bonaire can now pay the Visitor Entry Tax online prior to their trip. The Tourism Corporation Bonaire website has been expanded with the Entry Tax page. This page is now active for online payment and offers additional information about the Visitor Entry Tax.

All visitors to Bonaire are requested to register via the site prior to their trip and pay the Visitor Entry Tax. Once registered and paid, the visitor receives a personal QR code via email, which only requires an arrival check.  For travelers who have not paid online prior to their trip, payment can also be made upon arrival on Bonaire. Upon arrival on Bonaire, you can pay with various cards such as Maestro, Visa, and Mastercard. The Visitor Entry Tax cannot be paid with cash.

During the first period, online payment in advance is only possible by credit card. Soon, it will also include PayPal and iDeal.

Residents of Bonaire with a sedula do not have to register in advance but can gain access on arrival on Bonaire by showing their sedula without payment and without a QR code.
