Bonaire receives six number one spots in the 2023 Readers Choice Awards.
Scuba Diving magazine announced the results of its 2023 Readers’ Choice Awards in the November 2022 issue, recognizing Bonaire in 13 categories!
Nearly 6,000 recreational divers participated in Scuba Diving magazine’s 30th annual Readers’ Choice Survey to name the best diving destinations in the world. The votes were counted in a variety of categories based on dive destinations visited over the past two years. Bonaire’s reputation as a diver’s paradise continues to dominate the scuba diving scene as the island secured 13 2023 Reader’s Choice Awards. Of those 13 awards, six were number one ratings!
30th consecutive year for the Best Shore Diving!
For the 30th consecutive year, Bonaire has maintained its reign as the number one Shore Diving Destination in the Caribbean/Atlantic region. Bonaire also received first place in five other regional categories. The categories are Best Beginner Diving, Best Macro Life, Best Snorkeling, Best Health of Marine Environment, and Best Underwater Photography. Additionally, the destination received Reader’s Choice rankings in Best Value, Advanced Diving, Big Animals, Wreck Diving, Wall Diving, and Best Overall.
According to CEO of Tourism Corporation Bonaire, Miles B M Mercera, ‘’We are celebrating as a community as this recognizes the hard work and eco-efforts done by several partners on island to keep Bonaire Blue and focused on its vision for sustainability. This is not only considered an award but a recognition of what truly matters to us which is the synergy and love between mother nature and human nature. On behalf of all of us, as we say in our local language Pabien (congrats) Bonaire for its 30th consecutive year being recognized as the number one Shore Diving Destination in the Caribbean/Atlantic region.”
