Travelers to Bonaire No Longer Need a Health Declaration

The Bonaire flag.

Good news for people traveling to Bonaire soon!

Over the last couple of months, Bonaire has maintained a low number of COVID-19 cases on the island. Thanks to the situation being under control, the government has announced that the health declaration is no longer needed to enter Bonaire. This means that the only requirement for travel is excitement, some luggage, and a big smile! Of course, we hope you continue to be honest and not travel to our small island with COVID-19 symptoms.

Below is a transcript of the latest press release.

Travelers to Bonaire no longer need to complete a health declaration as of June 1, 2022. This means that no special travel conditions apply for travelers to the island from that date. The health certificate expires now that the situation surrounding COVID-19 on Bonaire is under control.

The health declaration may be reintroduced in the future if needed. For example, if a new variant of COVID-19 appears or if there is a spike in infections on the island. Any changes to travel requirements will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

The Public Health Department calls on everyone to pay close attention to complaints that resemble COVID-19. It concerns complaints such as fever, cough, sore throat, and nose cold. The advice is to make a test appointment at 0800 0800.

A person infected with the COVID-19 must be in isolation for five days. The close contacts or roommates of an infected person no longer need to be quarantined.

Traveling back to the USA.

Currently, the CDC still requires an antigen test when traveling back to the USA. The antigen test is required to be taken one day in advance of departure. Of course, this could always change.
