Bonaire Culinair with Epic Tours

It’s time to sail right into Bonaire Culinair with Epic Tours!

Those on Bonaire over the next two weeks will be able to enjoy a special dining event called Bonaire Culinair, where many of the island’s most popular restaurants offer special three-course dinner menus. This time, a few restaurants are even offering a two-course lunch menu. The Bonaire Culinair dining event is the perfect excuse to try a few new restaurants during your stay on dushi Bonaire.

Bonaire Culinair with Epic Tours.

The past few Bonaire Culinair events have been quite enjoyable, so I couldn’t wait to experience dinner with Epic Tours on their stunning catamaran. This is Epic Tours first time joining the dining event, and it was an experience to remember!

Upon arriving at the dock, the friendly staff greeted my friend, Meredith, and I as we climbed aboard the catamaran. After choosing a nice place to settle in, one of the staff members, Tsidi, gave a boat briefing while Carolina took our drink orders. The open bar consists of water, sodas, prosecco, and wine. Of course, we choose a little bit of bubbly to start the day. After receiving our drinks, Fred, the boat captain, effortlessly guided the catamaran away from the dock, and we sailed to our first snorkel site to begin the half-day experience. The relaxing vibes immediately washed over us, and we knew we were in for a lovely day at sea!

The guided snorkel tour.

Our first snorkel site was Leonora’s Reef on Klein Bonaire. Once the snorkel gear was distributed, those who wanted to snorkel jumped into the Caribbean Sea. The cool seawater felt relaxing, and the snorkeling was beautiful. Tsidi led the guided snorkel tour, provided tips along the way, and pointed out the beautiful marine life to the guests.

The starter course.

Once everyone was back on board with a drink in hand, fresh pineapple was passed around as a small bite. Moments later, a plate arrived with fresh tuna sashimi sprinkled with sesame seeds, wakame seaweed, ginger with soy sauce, and a smear of soy mayonnaise. Not only was the presentation beautiful, but the flavors complemented each other perfectly.

The second snorkel of the day.

After we finished enjoying the tuna sashimi dish, we sailed to Petrie’s Pillar for our second snorkel site of the day. Thanks to the tips from the first snorkel, many guests enjoyed snorkeling independently with ease. Other guests remained on the boat to work on their tans and sip on a refreshing beverage.

The appetizer course.

Once everyone was back on board, Fred, who is also the chef, worked his magic at the barbeque. Soon after, the appetizer arrived with seasoned shrimp on a skewer grilled to perfection over a bed of mixed salad. On the side was a melt-in-your-mouth piece of Wahoo and a slice of bread with herb mayonnaise.

The main course.

The main course was a delicious tender ribeye, a nice portion of a creamy pasta salad, lean slices of tenderloin, chimichurri sauce, and a piece of warm bread with herb mayonnaise. The flavors were divine and complimented each other perfectly. The portion was the perfect amount after a day of exerting energy snorkeling along the reef.

The dessert.

Since there is always room for dessert, we were presented with a chocolate cake topped with butterscotch cocoa.  The dessert was light and airy, with the perfect amount of sweetness to end the day.  As the last dish was collected, we sailed back to town while enjoying the sun dipping below the horizon.
