Calendar of Events on Bonaire

If you are visiting the island during a legal holiday, please be aware that grocery stores may be closed or have adjusted hours. Gas stations may also be closed on legal holidays. Credit cards are not accepted at gas stations so make sure you plan accordingly.

• January 11, 2026 (date is TBD)- Clean Coast Bonaire. Volunteer for the monthly beach cleanup.at Boka Onima from 4PM – 6PM. Bring  sun protection, a water bottle and some friends and help out.

• January 31, 2026 – Annual Lora (Parrot) Roost Count. Echo Foundation relies heavily on volunteers to assist with the annual parrot count between the hours of 6 AM- 8 AM. Sign up before January 20th by sending an message to EchoBonaire on Facebook.
• Last Saturday of the Month – Nos Zjilea Cultural Event at Mangazina di Rei. Experience local cuisine, music, arts & crafts and learn about Bonaire’s culture on the last Saturday of every month from 10 AM – 3 PM.

February 2026

• February 1, 2026 – Ride for Roses. Ride, Walk, or Swim to support the fight against cancer. Walking is 7km or 9km. Cycling is either 13km or 20km. Swim is 700m. More information to follow.
• February 2, 2026 – World Wetland Day. World Wetlands Day occurs annually on February 2nd, marking the date of the adoption of the Convention on Wetlands on February 2, 1971. Wetlands are important wildlife areas that may include several different ecosystems, such as mangrove forests, seagrass beds, saliñas, and coral reefs nurseries.

February 2026

• February 6, 2026 – Taste of Bonaire Carnaval Edition. Location – city center, typically from around 6 PM until 9 PM
• February 7, 2026  – Children’s Parade in Rincon (Marcha Hubenil RIncon). Parade typically begins at 3 PM and ends at 6 PM (estimated times based on prior years).
• February 8, 2026 – Children’s Parade in Kralendijk (Marcha Hubenil Playa). Parade typically begins at 3 PM and ends at 6 PM (estimated times based on prior years).
• February 13, 2026 – Elder and Teen Parade in Kralendijk 
• February 14, 2026  Adult Grand Parade in Rincon (Marcha Grandi RIncon). Parade typically begins at 2 PM and ends at 6 PM (estimated times based on prior years).
• February 15, 2026 – Adult Grand Parade in Kralendijk (Marcha Grandi Playa). Parade typically begins at 1 PM and ends at 6 PM (estimated times based on prior years). It typically begins at Van Den Tweel, passing by the stadium as it rounds the corner near Kaya Grandi, up to the church and back to Van Den Tweel).
• February 16, 2026 – Children’s/ Teen / Elder Farewell Parade (Marcha di Despedida Hubenil) (Start time is TBD)
• February 17, 2026 – Adult Farewell Grand Parade in Kralendijk at night with the Burning of King Momo at Midnight (the night before Lent) (Marcha di Despedida Adulto). Parade typically begins at 7 PM and ends at 12 AM and follows the path of the adult day parade the Sunday prior (estimated times based on prior years)

March 2026

• March 3, 2026 – World Wildlife Day
• Beginning of March (Date is TBD) – 22nd Edition Walk-A-Thon. Walk from White Slave Huts to Rincon while supporting the Special Olympics of Bonaire.
• March 8, 2026 – International Women’s Day
• March 2026 (date is TBD)- Clean Coast Bonaire. Volunteer for the monthly beach cleanup.
• Mid March – 14th edition of BON DOET, the largest volunteer event on Bonaire. More info to follow. Date is TBD
• March 21, 2026 – International Forests Day
• March 22, 2026 – World Water Day
• Last Saturday of the Month – Nos Zjilea Cultural Event at Mangazina di Rei. Experience local cuisine, music, arts & crafts and learn about Bonaire’s culture on the last Saturday of every month from 10 AM – 3 PM.

April 2026

• April 2026 – Multiple Local events. Leading up to Dia Di Rincon at the end of the month, there are multiple events that take place. The schedule is always in Papiamentu only.
• April 2026 (date is TBD)- Clean Coast Bonaire. Volunteer for the monthly beach cleanup.
• April 3, 2026 – Good Friday. This is a legal holiday. Some businesses and most government offices are closed, including the larger supermarkets. However, the Washington Slagbaai National Park is typically open on this day.
• April 5, 2026 – Easter Sunday.  This is a legal holiday. Some businesses and most government offices are closed, including the larger supermarkets. However, the Washington Slagbaai National Park is typically open on this day.
• April 6, 2026– Easter Monday. This is a legal holiday. Some businesses and most government offices are closed. Supermarkets typically have reduced hours.
• April 22, 2026 – Earth Day. Celebrate Earth Day on the same day yearly.
• April 27, 2026 – Kings Day. This is a legal holiday. Some businesses and most government offices are closed.
• Last Saturday of the Month – Nos Zjilea Cultural Event at Mangazina di Rei. Experience local cuisine, music, arts & crafts and learn about Bonaire’s culture on the last Saturday of every month from 10 AM – 3 PM.
• April 30, 2026 –Dia di Rincon / Rincon Day. This is a legal holiday. Some businesses and most government offices are closed. The Washington Slagbaai National Park is also closed on this day. Supermarkets will have reduced hours.There are multiple events throughout the day, but the main parade begins in the afternoon. Be careful of the road closures and make sure to park outside of the road closures in Rincon.

May 2026

• May 1, 2026 – Labor Day. This is a legal holiday. Some businesses and most government offices are closed.​ Some supermarkets will have reduced hours. There is also a parade in Playa that typically takes place on this day.
• May 4, 2026 – International Firefighters Day. Celebrated on the same day yearly.
• May 2025 (date is TBD)- Clean Coast Bonaire. Volunteer for the monthly beach cleanup.
• Mid May, 2026 – Global Big Day. This is a 24-hour event where people worldwide who love birds go out and count species.
• Mid May, 2026 – Bonaire Culinair Spring Edition. ( Dates are TBD).
• May 29, 2026 – Ascension Day. This is a legal holiday. Some businesses and most government offices are closed. The main supermarkets also close early on this day.
• May 31, 2026 – World Parrot Day. Enjoy celebrating parrots on the same day yearly.
• Last Saturday of the Month – Nos Zjilea Cultural Event at Mangazina di Rei. Experience local cuisine, music, arts & crafts and learn about Bonaire’s culture on the last Saturday of every month from 10 AM – 3 PM.

June 2026

• June 1, 2026 – World Reef Awareness Day. Celebrate our beautiful reef on the same day yearly.
• June 8, 2026 – World Oceans Day. Celebrated on the same day yearly.
• June 2026 (date is TBD)- Clean Coast Bonaire. Volunteer for the monthly beach cleanup.
• Mid June 2026 – 4th Annual Pride Bonaire (Dates are TBD)
• June 21, 2026 – International Yoga Day & Summer Solstice
• Last Saturday of the Month – Nos Zjilea Cultural Event at Mangazina di Rei. Experience local cuisine, music, arts & crafts and learn about Bonaire’s culture on the last Saturday of every month from 10 AM – 3 PM.

July 2026

• July 18, 2026 – PADI Women’s Dive Day
• July 26, 2026 – International Day for the Conservation of the Mangroves
• Last Saturday of the Month – Nos Zjilea Cultural Event at Mangazina di Rei. Experience local cuisine, music, arts & crafts and learn about Bonaire’s culture on the last Saturday of every month from 10 AM – 3 PM.
• July 31, 2026 – World Ranger Day. Celebrated world-wide on the same day every year. Thank you STINAPA for the work that you do.

August 2026

• August 2026 (date is TBD)- Clean Coast Bonaire. Volunteer for the monthly beach cleanup.

September 2026

• Mid September, 2026 – Bonaire Culinair Fall Edition. ( Dates are TBD).
• September 19, 2026 – International Coastal Cleanup Day. International Coastal Cleanup Day focuses on bringing volunteers together to remove trash from beaches, helping to protect marine life and preserve our oceans for future generations.
• September 20, 2026 – World Cleanup Day. World Cleanup Day unites millions of volunteers across the globe to take action against waste pollution and create a cleaner, healthier planet. If you are on Bonaire, join in and help the island by picking up litter.
• Last Saturday of the Month – Nos Zjilea Cultural Event at Mangazina di Rei. Experience local cuisine, music, arts & crafts and learn about Bonaire’s culture on the last Saturday of every month from 10 AM – 3 PM.

October 2026

• Beginning of October – Jong Bonaire “Swim to Klein.” 24th Edition. Typically the first weekend in October right before the start of Regatta. Last year in 2025, there were 800 participants! Date is TBD
• Beginning of October – 59th Edition Bonaire International Regatta. Dates are TBD
• Mid October – Float Fest/ Boat Party. Typically  the end of Regatta. More information to follow.
• October 2026 (date is TBD)- Clean Coast Bonaire. Volunteer for the monthly beach cleanup.
• Mid October – Global Big Day. This is a 24-hour event where people worldwide who love birds go out and count species.

• Last Saturday of the Month – Nos Zjilea Cultural Event at Mangazina di Rei. Experience local cuisine, music, arts & crafts and learn about Bonaire’s culture on the last Saturday of every month from 10 AM – 3 PM.

December 2026

• December 2026 (date is TBD)- Clean Coast Bonaire. Volunteer for the monthly beach cleanup.
• December 15, 2026 – Kingdom Day. This is a legal holiday. Some businesses and most government offices are closed.
• Mid December 2026 – Christmas Shopping Night – Typically about 5 days before Christmas. Date is TBD
• December 25, 2026 – Christmas Day. This is a legal holiday. Most businesses and government offices, including Washington Slagbaai National Park and supermarkets, are closed.
• December 26, 2026 – Boxing Day. This is a legal holiday. Most businesses and government offices are closed.
• Last Saturday of the Month – Nos Zjilea Cultural Event at Mangazina di Rei. Experience local cuisine, music, arts & crafts and learn about Bonaire’s culture on the last Saturday of every month from 10 AM – 3 PM.
