Snorkel with Private Guided Tours Bonaire.

Private Guided Tours Bonaire offers snorkel and island tours.

Bonaire is known for its year-round warm weather and outdoor activities such as snorkeling. Scuba Divers aren’t the only ones that can experience the beautiful reefs on Bonaire. Snorkelers can enjoy the diverse coral and marine life thanks to the reef’s proximity to the shore. Of course, snorkeling with a private guide has many perks, such as door-to-door service, pointing out specific marine life, and taking photos. Private Guided Tours Bonaire offers snorkel tours with a personal touch.

What can you expect from Private Guided Tours Bonaire?

When booking a tour with Private Guided Tours Bonaire, you have a few choices, such as a snorkeling tour, an island tour, or a combination of both! Once you choose, Kirsten, your guide, will find out your comfort level and design a tailor-made tour just for you. The tours are always private, with a maximum of 4 people in your group. Do you need gear such as masks, snorkels, fins, or boots? Look no further, as Kirsten has snorkel gear available for rent.

Snorkeling on Bonaire.

Snorkeling on Bonaire is magnificent and relaxing. Earlier this week, I had the opportunity to snorkel with Kirsten, the owner and guide of Private Guided Tours Bonaire. She appreciates the ocean and loves sharing her passion and knowledge with others. She also has a very calming personality. If you are a little nervous about snorkeling, Kirsten will talk you through everything step by step.

Before the snorkel tour, she checked to see if any rental gear was needed or if I needed assistance. Once we had a plan, she arrived at my home to pick me up, along with her daughter, Famke, and her daughter’s boyfriend, Rolando. Since I knew Kirsten’s family was visiting on vacation ahead of time, I asked them to join us since it was their last day on Bonaire.

As we drove south to an unnamed site, we chatted and eagerly looked forward to getting into the warm Caribbean sea. Once we arrived, we surveyed the area for the best entry and grabbed our snorkel gear. At the water’s edge, Kirsten went over a few hand signals so we could communicate without taking our heads out of the water. She also made sure everyone was comfortable with the plan. As we entered the crystal clear water, we immediately felt a calmness wash over us. For the four of us, the ocean is our happy place.

With Kirsten in the lead, we followed her in the shallows as she pointed out specific fish. Kirsten also takes underwater photos of the private groups, not only of the people but also of the beautiful marine life and coral. With a weight belt, she free-dives down to get the best photos and to point out anything of interest.

What did we see?

The unnamed site in the south is full of beautiful staghorn and elkhorn coral and, of course, a wide variety of fish! We saw French angelfish, porcupine pufferfish, scrawled filefish, peacock flounder, and plenty of damselfish. We also saw a few of my favorites, such as wiggly juvenile french angelfish and four turtles! One turtle even stopped for a rest, which allowed us to admire her from above. Famke and Rolando even free-dived down to get a better view while respecting the turtle and staying at a distance.

End of the snorkel tour.

As we were taking off our snorkel gear in the shallows, not one, not two, but three beautiful birds flew over us. It was an Osprey, a Magnificent Frigate, and a Brown Booby! All three birds flew just above our heads. What an unexpected treat!

After drying off, we headed home as the tour ended. But before we left the unnamed site, a box was presented to me. What was in the box? You will have to book a tour to find out! I don’t want to ruin the surprise, because what’s the fun in that?!

Overall Experience.

Kirsten with Private Guided Tours Bonaire is a divemaster and freediver. She truly loves everything about the ocean and Bonaire, as well as sharing her passion with others. She is excellent at fish identification and loves capturing the moments in photos. Each snorkel tour comes with one photo. Of course, there were probably many memories of the day that you want to remember. Because of this, Private Guided Tours Bonaire has additional photography add-ons to the snorkel tours.

Private Guided Tours Bonaire offers you the opportunity to experience and discover the most beautiful places on Bonaire, both above and below the water. Don’t forget to book your tour in advance. I highly suggest the combination tour!
